Most of its musical composition dates from the late 1400s, though the office as sung here represents a somewhat later stage of its development in the Order. This performance by the University of Iowa Cantores of cistercian chants for the Office of Vigils of the Visitation (31 May) was recorded in the Chapter Room of the Abbey of Our Lady of New Melleray in Iowa.Chant ListingBells of New Melleray Abbey [0:37] Invitatory Antiphon and Psalm [11:28] Hymn [2:40] Responsory One [2:23] Responsory Two [1:55] Responsory Three [2:27] Responsory Four [2:48] Responsory Five [3:08] Responsory Six[2:17] Responsory Seven [2:48] Responsory Eight [5:57] Antiphon and First Canticle [3:06] Responsory Nine [1:37] Responsory Ten [2:26] Responsory Eleven [2:28] Responsory Twelve [3:55] The Bells of the Community of New Melleray [1:05] D.
